I’m in Gurgaon
Since I’ve been behind in blog posts, it’s time to catch up.
Hyderabad – May 9-19. Gurgaon May 20-22. And then Dublin May 23 – June 3.
It was a busy week and a half in Hyderabad. Lots of meetings. Lots of people to meet. Lots of training. But, it was a blast to see old friends and meet new ones. I’m so glad to be back in India, a heck of a lot sooner than I thought. But, I’m also sad to be leaving so soon.
So, after 7 good days in Hyderabad, it was off to Gurgaon on Tuesday. Unfortunately, I got to the airport around 6:30, only to find out my 7:40 flight was delayed until around 10pm. (System failure in Delhi? Huh?) So, I hung out and ate some dinner and paged through a Jeffrey Archer novel. I’m on my second since I got here and bought a few more books to keep myself busy when I have some free time.
Anyway, got to Gurgaon around 1AM and rolled into work the next day. Meetings, emails, etc to keep me busy. Video conferences to last until near midnight.
But, I totally got a much needed break when I joined some team members for an offsite today! My timing here couldn’t have been better!
Some team members organized a trip to the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, where we did some team building activities in the hot, hot, sun. The first part of the offsite was an obstacle course, which included an infamous tire to climb through:

As you can see, there’s a few different ways to go through this. We then got to do some rock climbing!

I only went halfway up, which was the recommended stopping point. We then went to another obstacle, where team members had to pull themselves across a ditch:

We then played a pretty hilarious game where we had to tie a balloon to our leg and try to pop everyone else’s. I was eliminated early, which made for a pretty funny video:
Next, tug-of-war:

Our team actually won this event! And finally, more rock climbing:

I couldn’t get any higher than this :(

So, after a really hot and tiring afternoon, we all ate dinner. From Dominos!

This pizza is apparently called Chicken Mexican Red Wave. You sure can’t get this flavor in the United States, eh?
This break could not have come at a better time. I have one more day to make the most of my time in Gurgaon, and then it’s off to Dublin! I should probably read up on what to do there tonight…
your jeans must be looking good after all that activity
