Kerala (Days 11-15)
Nelson invited me on an amazing trip through Kerala last weekend. We had our own driver the entire time, who took us from Cochin through endless tea estates to Mannar, Thekkady, and Alappuzha. We saw beautiful forests, lakes, and waterfalls, and concluded with a one day trip on a houseboat in the backwaters of Kerala.
You can find the entire ~249 picture album on Picasa, but my favorite photos are below:

These few pictures hardly encompass the entirety of the trip – there was plenty of delicious food that was eaten and I bought a ton of stuff – organic pepper and a mixed bag of 9 different spices (price: ~5 USD), 9 pashmina/wool/silk scarves (price: I’d rather not say), and really tasty cashews and banana chips (price: 15 USD). I’ll really remember the scenery – compared to my pictures of Delhi/Agra/Jaipur, you can see a totally different side of India, which to be honest, didn’t cross my mind when I thought of India before I came here. What’s stayed consistent is the friendliness of the people – they smile at me, some will say hello and ask me where I’m from (usually guessing China, Singapore, or Japan), and always willing to help me or our driver out with directions. I even got a chance to meet Nelson’s parents, three uncles and aunts, and his 6 week old nephew (cute overload!).
For more stories about my trips, you’ll just have to ask me in person :)
