I just received an upsetting e-mail from my Filipino Experience professor, telling me that unless there are 6 people in my class (there are currently 5), the course will be cancelled.  It’s pretty damn hard for people to add another course three weeks into the quarter and I just might have to do that if I’m going to keep on track with getting a double major in History and Asian American Studies.  What irks me though, is that this is the second Asian American Studies course that I’ve tried to take that will be cancelled (last quarter it was a South Asian Diasporas class).  It sucks more because all of the other Asian American Studies courses this quarter I have taken so I’ll be left with no Asian American Studies focus units required for the major.  And with my plan to write a History thesis next year, this really doesn’t bode well for me getting a double major, if there are no courses offerred.  So could I be CSRE?  I’ve never even thought about it, but with all of the courses I could take, because there are actually people in them, means I could potentially get a CSRE major.  Maybe maybe.  In the meantime, I might as well start shopping other classes, preferably large lecture classes where I won’t have missed much and there won’t be much work to make up.  But, I thought the draw of colleges like Stanford was their small course sizes - such bullshit.
