October 26, 2005

I was pretty out of it during Russian History and CASA class, although both lectures were interesting.  Chris, the TA, gave a lecture on witchcraft in early Russia, presumably based off of work on his PhD, which seems pretty interesting.

After CASA section (where I realized how much work I have to do to prepare for that midterm), I put in a few hours for the MLKPP and then went back to do some reading.  Tonight Yang, Linda Lee, Linda Tran, Mark, Jin, and I went out to eat with Carolyn – she’s excited about working at Carlton College in Minnesota and researching the Hmong community and then trying to get a position at UC Merced.  We ate at a Hong Kong style restaurant – pretty good food – I’m full!  We visited Cynthia and Daniel at FloMo since Cynthia is sick.  We brought her some won ton soup.

So I spent the evening doing much of the same – talking, reading, writing, studying, etc.

Chinese is interesting but it’s time consuming and disappointing when I realize that I can’t take it next quarter.  BLAH.
