Errands errands errands.  I worked from 10-12 for the King Papers project and then met with Susan Spain to start part-time work for the Asian American Art project Gordon Chang is doing.  She’s on the fourth floor of Wallenberg, so I get to swipe my card over a scanner to enter the fourth floor.  I also went to the bank, dropped off papers at the King Center, and did some reading before a fun evening!

Since it was Eric’s birthday, I was point-person for our fun filled evening.  Raylene, Michelle, Eric, Chris, Harry, Mariana, Wilmot, and I went out to Nola’s for dinner.  There was a guy walking around making crazy balloon hats, so Teasley got one.  It was RIDICULOUS:

The hat was the same thing the balloon guy was wearing.  We overheard a woman asking for his phone number so she could have him work a little kid’s party – he responded by giving her his number and saying that if a woman picks up the phone, I’d be his Mother.  That explained a lot, because when we asked him to make Eric a motorcycle ala Wedding Crashers, he had no idea what we were talking about.  Just a young buck, but quite talented!

So we pretended that dinner was all we had for Eric and we were just going to go back and party, but we drove him over to Oakland to Yoshi’s a world famous jazz club.  We were there for a Clifford Brown 75th anniversary concert – a bunch of famous jazz trumpet players performed – Arturo Sandoval to name one in particular.  The performance was awesome – I haven’t been to a jazz concert in awhile so I thoroughly enjoyed it!  There was only one bass solo :-(.  But, the trumpets were amazing.  Well after that we took Eric back and we partied and hung out for a few hours.  Another one is 21!
