May 27, 2005

My big event of the day was an end-of-the-year BBQ for the MLKPP.  Beth made some kick-ass burgers and hot dogs (I ate two burgers and one hot dog and some chips with guacamole) so I was stuffed.  Professor Carson gave all of us certificates of appreciation (like AIM certificates) and a $5 giftcard to Jamba Juice.  Beth’s going to be at the London School of Economics by the end of July getting an MA in Anthropology – I’ll miss her – she’s an awesome boss.  Maybe I’ll see her if I study in Oxford next Spring!

I spent some time at the A3C before a really really quick meeting about volunteering for Asian American Grad Banquet.  Then back to Kimball to do some work and reading and packing for Asian activist Community Training this weekend.  I hung out with Nigel, Chris, and some of his friends from high school tonight – we went to Columbae and then to Toyon.  Pretty low key night.  Me and Nigel wrote some mean things on the white board outside their room because Chris was late (15 minutes to Q-Cup took 1.5hours).  To bed early though like a responsible person.

  1. and here’s a preview of the next two days!

excerpt: I met alot of other Reid Yokoyamas at Oakland. Yep, they were into Asian-American activism and clothing stores. We rushed to the nearest Banana Republic, and combined our two passions of checking out nice shirts and lobbying for workers’ rights. HOT!
