March 23, 2005

My Mom and I went to the Aloha Stadium Swap meet today.  The vendors were pretty much the same since I went a few years ago – they were selling lots of graphic t-shirts, Hawaiian trinkets, and jewelry.  I picked up a few gifts for friends and my Mom got a few apple-bananas (really small bananas that are really sweet).  I got my hair cut at Supercuts – the trim was pretty good and thank goodness I still have a little red hair left.  I’m going to do brown next though.  :D   We stopped off at a really good Chinese restaurant to pick up oyster sauce noodles with chicken – they’re my sister’s favorite dish in Hawaii.  We brought that home and chowed down with my grandparents and Jillian.

I watched “The Terminal” this afternoon and enjoyed it for the most part.  The story was a bit odd but I found the plot compelling enough to sustain my interest for the duration.  Along with my Mom and sister, I headed to Mililani for Austin’s 3rd birthday ‘party.’  He got another Thomas the Train – a train named Edward and a Rams uniform.  Hehe he looks so cute in it!

We went to an all you can eat sushi buffet – I’m still so full after soft shell crab, sashimi, tempura sushi, crab, and shrimp.  I still managed to eat some cake and waddle around to play with Austin and hold Tobey.  He slept through Austin’s birthday cake and that was caught on video – I can imagine that will be really funny to watch 20 years from now.  That reminds me of watching home videos when my sister and I were little kids – there are so many funny moments.  I seriously think we could have won one of those “Americas Funniest Home Video” awards.

Back at the Kam’s I spent some time lounging about, watching TV, and signing up for classes online.

My tentative schedule includes…Social Dance, History of Japanese Popular Culture, New Research in Asian American History, CS 105 – Introduction to Computers, and Physics 17 – Black Holes.  I could even take CS 105 for three units and throw in a polisci course.  Should I be daring?  Or lazy?  Or…both?
