From the UK Government’s Departmnet for International Development comes this chilling statistics on Malawi: of every 1,000 children starting primary school today, it is estimated that only two will complete their secondary education with enough qualifications to carry on to tertiary education; and, based on current projections, it is likely that one of those will become infected with HIV at some stage of his or her life.
