October 30, 2004

I slept until 1 again, but after waking up I was hella productive.  In fact, I was productive for almost all of the evening.  I read the 60+ pages for Middle East in the 20th Century and then went on to read about 100 pages of background information on the Cuban Missile Crisis for a paper I have to write (that’s due November 8, whoa I’m getting ahead here) for IR.  While reading, I also backed up all my files and reinstalled Windows….twice.  Honestly, Windows XP and all of these security issues make it a huge fiasco.  I was reading a webpage that says the quality of Windows XP deteriorates exponentially – so over time, you have to reinstall it anyway, since the computer gets really slow or things stop working (like my disk defrag, what the hell?).  I guess having gone from a Mac to a PC, I can’t wait to go to a Mac once this PC becomes obsolete.

So installing files and everything took a long time, but I still don’t have internet.  Internet would work for about five seconds and then poop out on me.  How frustrating.

I watched Monster’s Inc. with Harry, Amy, and Mariana.  Everytime I watch that movie, I see something new and it’s really cute.  When Mike and George are ‘stalking’ to work at the beginning, they pass a few stores, one of them sells – coffee and diesel and the grocery stores has interesting names for its products.  Since it’s daylight savings time, I went to bed at 4AM, but then realized it was 3AM.  That is sweet.

So you became an acceptable human being in October 2004. Interesting.
