September 29, 2004

It’s only Wednesday and I already feel like I’m going through the ‘daily grind’ of classes.  I woke up and wasn’t really thrilled to bike over to class at 10AM, but did it out of habit, perhaps hoping that today lecture would be engaging.  And yeah, Professor Rakove talked about American immigration somemore, but I guess revolutionary American history really doesn’t do it for me.  He made a bunch of references to his Jewish background, which was cool because I was able to understand all of it, having taken Jews in the Modern World last year.  But yeah, nothing exciting yet.

Same with Middle East in the 20th Century.  I even fell asleep at one point.  Shoot.

Introduction to IR was really interesting though.  We talked about different democratic theories regarding if democracies or autocracies are more likely to go to war.  It’s just so daunting with such a large class size, and tons of overachievers.

I played Scrabble this evening with friends.  Albert, in his first ever game, bingoed with ‘outsiders.’  Wow.  I attempted to read a book for section tomorrow, but it was really boring and I decided to try reading more later tonight (we’ll see if that actually happens).  After house meeting, where I ate 1.75 In n’ Out Burgers (SOOOOOOO GOOOOOD), we crashed Cedro’s house meeting.  All of the former residents met outside and then we ran inside screaming and banging on the windows.  We freaked them out I’m sure – but it was fun and it was nice to see many of the former residents back in the same place.  Curtis and I went to see who lived in our room, but they weren’t there!  Punks.  I played some fooseball for old times sake with Mickey – our faces are still on the table!

Well, now off to more reading.
