After lounging around the house, I went over to the Ginsburg’s to mow their lawn. I returned home and showered and did more of the same, sitting around the house and wasting time online. Since I woke up late, time passed quickly and it was already time to get ready for the quartet I was playing tonight. I made some yaki soba and then tidied up the house, dressed, and headed over to Andrea’s house. Jey drove us to the quartet, at Stegton’s in the St. Charles area. We played for the Lions Club, which was celebrating their 50th anniversary. Since it was a large room and there were so many people, we really weren’t heard. Oh well. We played strolling music, which was a lot of fun. It reminded me of last year when I was in the group. One lady sang God Bless America and the National Anthem – she tried hitting the high notes but couldn’t and it sounded pretty bad. It was a good quartet job because we did our thing, nobody was on our case, and we played fine, although we weren’t really heard. Jim Talent was there, which was pretty cool to see a notable St. Louis figure.
After much indecisiveness, we ended up going to Growlers Pub. I got their Mushroom, Swiss burger, which was really really good! At Growler’s you can get a 2nd order of fries for free. Eric and I did that, and a guy brought us out our fries. A few minutes later, another lady brought out fries, so we got 4 extra baskets of fries! We weren’t able to finish them all though, and I felt really full the rest of the evening. We returned to Andrea’s and played Pictionary. Andrea and I won – I think it’s our telepathic connection that allows us to guess each others drawings, because we know each other so well. :-D We then chilled and talked. I was really tired and still full, so I was pretty useless and kind of just lay there in a food coma. lol. Sad, but true. We listened to music and chatted about things and then I left to write this and go to bed asap.
haha, I had an opposite feeling about the strolling music…
btw, I want a photo credit on your awesome new profile pic! haha j/k
