Just finished talking with Jon. It was cool, just talking about various things – friends, who we are – just some male bonding. Haha.
Woke up refreshed for Spanish, and then History. It was raining really heavily this morning, so I walked to class in order to avoid getting soaked while riding a bike. My umbrella provided decent protection from the rain, but at one point the umbrella got turned inside out because of the wind, and when I got to class I realized my backpack had gotten soaked. Luckily, my books inside weren’t wet. History was decent because our Prof didn’t show up until 10:30 (class starts at 10). She was late because of traffic due to rain. Apparently she had left SF at 8:30, and just got to work. That’s quite a commute, so there was some benefits of it raining – in addition, I was able to finish almost all of the crossword puzzle in the Stanford Daily. I only had about 3 clues to fill in when I got back to my dorm. So, that was an accomplishment of the day.
IHUM lecture was interesting today. One of the TF’s was a “guest lecturer” and talked about the use of smell in The Brother’s Karamazov. A lot of people haven’t been showing up to lecture – I really do hope that my attendence will result in something positive at the end of the quarter, where I can finally feel like I did better than someone who just skipped all of the lectures.
The rest of the afternoon wasn’t anything exciting. Sure, there was IHUM section, nothing particularly interesting to mention there. Our TF brought candy, which was cool. We all ate it. Apparently biking to lecture this morning in the rain she somehow lost her bag with her wallet and laptop because it fell out of her bike rack. That explained why she wasn’t in lecture this morning. Luckily, it was returned to her.
Dinner at Wilbur and then did a bit of studying. I’m attempting to get started with my Brother’s Karamazov paper, even though it’s not due until March 8th, because Andrea’s visiting the weekend before the paper’s due, and I don’t want to have that really on my shoulder’s while she visits. Although, I know it will be. But, it’s a 700+ page book, and it would be nice to have found images and quotes before writing the paper the night before it’s due.
We also had a Floor Meeting tonight. There was pizza, and we didn’t really discuss much outside of ensuring that we respect quiet hours and try to stop making the bathroom smell like ass. I guess it was nice though, to see all the faces of everyone on the floor, especially since some of the guys prefer to stay within their group of friends, myself included, and not really talk with other people.
Guess I’ll go to sleep now. My Mom is visiting tomorrow for Parents’ Weekend. Should be interesting. I cleaned my room, in preparation.
people in California get so worked up about rain… on the news they were acting like a blizzard had hit
i didn’t mean that her being late wasn’t justified, but people just aren’t used to driving in the rain and they get into all these accidents that cause the traffic… just wanted to explain what I was saying lol
