February 26, 2004
Thursday’s are always good days, because it’s almost Friday and because I only have one class. I had a typical day in Spanish, so nothing to mention there. It was raining when class was over, which sucked because I got wet riding back. I hung around the dorm until I went to work. I walked and when I got to work, found out that nobody had stuff for me to do, so I walked back to Cedro. It was nice to not have to work. I made myself be productive, and did some Spanish as well as read some of Brother’s Karamazov.
I got a call around 3PM that my mom was in San Jose and driving up for Parents’ Weekend. She came, and we went to the Stanford Bookstore and than Tressidder to get her registered. It was nice to see her, and after hanging around my room, where she looked at her eBay bids (yeah, I know haha) we went to Applewood’s. Apparently it was kids night or something, because there were a million little tykes running around the restaurant, making tons of noise, shouting “pizza!” and whenever the waiter announced which order number was ready, they shouted that number a few times. But, I had some good pizza, which made the visit worth it. She dropped me back at Cedro and headed over to the Skjervheim’s.
I walked over to Kappa Alpha to shoot a Spanish skit. It was about 8:15 when I got there, and by 10PM we had nothing shot. One of the people in our group, Hai-Dong, couldn’t get his act together and kept cracking up for no apparent reason whenever reading his lines. It got to the point of being really annoying, so we took a break, hoping he could compose himself. We eventually finished shooting around 11:30. Our last take was the entire script without any breaks in about 10 minutes. Gosh, I wish we could’ve done that to begin with and not waste two hours. It was annoying, but I’m glad we got it over with. It was frustrating.
Went back to Cedro, talked with Andrea online for a bit. She’s coming in 7 days. Perhaps I’ll start counting hours – 187 hours. Or – 11220 minutes. Maybe if I count minutes the time will pass quicker. At least the numbers will change more often.
Also went downstairs to find Wendi and Mickey playing ping-pong. I finally met Wendi, after seeing and reading her Xanga all year. That was neat. I lost two games of ping-pong to Mickey. How disappointing. I also saw Mary for the second time this quarter. Talked with Susan and in the background Mike was playing the piano. Lots of cool stuff goes on late at night. I’ll call it the Cedro Nite Life.
nice to meet you too! =)
pwn3d!
LoL I just can’t help but laugh out loud (actually) when I read about your Spanish buddy!! just the ridiculousness of it and how I guess it reminds me of fun/crazy times in French all those years…back me up here, Paige?!?
anyway…yes, in exactly a week from now I’ll be at the airport heading west…w00t…stanford people, beware!
more later
andrea is backed up…completely
however, if it was french it would be us and mina cracking up over something not related to the script at all. :)
videos are hard to make – i think i was the one who cracked up and messed up the takes in 7th grade in skills (was that what they called it in 7th grade)?
