December 26, 2003

I definitely didn’t realize it was Friday until the day was over. I’ve lost track of days since I’ve been back home. All of the days are just a continuous stream of hanging out with friends, then sleeping for a bit, and waking up late and doing the same thing. It’s not that I have a problem with it, in fact, it’s awesome, but it’s just an observation.

Anyway, the highlight of the day was hanging out with friends. Eric, Paige, Andrea, and I went to Borders in the afternoon, and looked at college books. We read up on our respected colleges – we had done this before going to college, because we’re dorks like that, but reading about them now from the perspective of being there was interesting. We even ventured to the other side of the aisle and looked at graduate school and job/career books. Gosh, it definitely gave me the feeling that I have no idea what I’m doing in 4 years. I’m so used to just waking up and doing the school thing. I know I will figure something out between now and then, but it’s a distant, but somewhat scary thought right now.

So after Borders we went to the next shopping plaza, where Paige and I walked over to Best Buy while Andrea and Eric checked out DSW Shoe Warehouse. Best Buy was out of the Outkast CD, which I thought was pretty dumb. There were four racks in the Rap section reserved for Outkast, and they didn’t have a single CD there. Oh well, it kept Paige from spending money, although she had a gift card. We definitely saw a dead bird while we were walking alongside the road to get there. It was funny, because Eric picked us up as he was driving to the Best Buy area – we had to quickly get in the car before we held up traffic.

We then went to Bubble Tea, although they were originally closed, so we checked out Vintage Vinyl. Then, coming back to the Bubble Tea area, we noticed they were open, and Eric talked with some of the workers because he worked there over the summer. He got a free Strawberry slush, which I of course helped drink. We also ate some pizza at Rachinelli’s. That was on my list of places to go in St. Louis over break. One down, a lot more to go!

The evening, after dinner, Eric, Andrea, and Beth and I went down to the Central West End to check out Coffee Cartel. We stayed there for a good 2 hours of so, just chatting and talking about college. It was so nice – I feel very close to all of them. We exchanged some stories and moments and thoughts about college. We’ve all had different experiences, which is good, although we still seem to be pretty much the same people. That’s definitely cool.

Oh yeah, Eric and Beth learned how to put air in car tires. Andrea showed them while I sat in the car (I knew how to anyway haha). So we spent some time doing that before heading to Coffee.

Later, at Andrea’s house, we made a flow-chart of the different people each of us has gone with to high school dances all four years. Eric and I had double-dated to Homecoming all four years, each time with a different date. Junior year I went to all the dances with Laura, while Senior year I went to all the dances with Andrea. It was pretty interesting to see who we’ve gone with each year and how far or close we’ve grown to those people since then.

Wow, December 26. I only have 9 more days in St. Louis. I better make them count!
