After waking up around 7:25, I rode my bike down to Dikelspiel Auditorium where I took my horrendous Spanish Oral Exam. I wasn’t able to think and formulate responses on the spot – it was something I never did in high school, so I doubt I placed out of any sort of courses. I called the AP Place to have them finally send my AP scores to Stanford. I tried to also call AT&T about my stupid cell phone plan sucking, but they were all busy and I got tired of holding. Lunch was awesome – the sushi bar began service, and I had some unagi (eel) for lunch…later I had California rolls for dinner. But, the food is actually a la carte, so I can’t go all out with what I eat. Guess that makes me not put on the pounds. I had a meeting with my PAA and AA, and while I was riding to the meeting place, my left pedal broke and fell off! I need to get it fixed, so I plan to take it to Palo Alto Bike shop tomorrow. Luckily, there’s still a small screw that I can use to still use the bike. It’s just annoying. Oh well – better now then when classes start. I also spent the afternoon throwing around the ‘bee with some people, and then played basketball with Andrea and Caroline and a kid named Sam, who went to the same school as Harry. We also played Horse. Yay! Then, me, Harry, and Phoebe went to the AANSOC presentation – I felt that most were good, although the really specific nature of the groups made me feel like it really wasn’t something I’d want to commit a lot of time to. Of course, the Hawaiian Luau sure sounds good. I then went to the Simps Improv performance in Toyon hall. Luckily, we got there early so we were able to get good seats. The performance was just like Who’s Line is It Anyway?; I was laughing my head off. When we returned to the dorm I left to go fountain hopping – a Stanford tradition where a group of people run and jump in the various fountains on campus. Before we even got to the fountains, we did some slip n’ slidin’ on the wet grass in front of Wilbur Hall. After going to the fountain in front of Meyer library, we went to the Claw in front of the Bookstore. A cop actually drove by while we were relaxing in the fountain, and told us that “this isn’t a swimming pool,” so we had to leave. But it was a great time, fountain hopping at 1AM. After hanging out with people in Cedro, I proceeded to go to bed.
