After waking up and talking on the phone with Andrea for an hour, I showered and ate some brunch. Today was a pretty unproductive day. It took me two hours to complete seemingly easy chemistry homework, and after that, I headed to the Bender room in Green library to read some Mencius. That room was really nice – the chairs were so comfy that I fell asleep a few times. I then headed back to my room where I hung out until dinner. From 7-10pm there was an open Taiko workshop, where I got my first experience at Taiko drumming. There were over 100 people that showed up, apparently the biggest turnout they’ve ever had! That didn’t make things seem too good, because apparently they take only 6-8 people each year. But I had a great time, learning some of the basic drumming techniques, and then finishing the evening by learning a song, that we got to perform a few times. I then headed over to Flicks, where there was a huge paper fight going on in Memorial Auditorium. The movie that night was Matrix: Reloaded, which I had never seen before. I watched that, trying to listen while plenty of people shouted out lewd and funny comments throughout the entire movie. That’s the tradition of Flicks movies, although from what I hear, it will die down as time passes, since this was the opening night of Flicks. I headed back to Cedro, where me, Theo, and Harry practiced some of our newly learned Taiko techniques in the bathroom using chopsticks. It didn’t go to well, since we forgot the song we had learned. I’m hoping it will come back tomorrow, and that there will also be less people at the workshop tomorrow. Either way, it was a lot of fun, and I look forward to going tomorrow. I plan to go to bed right now, since I have a fun day of IHUM, Chem, and Calc lectures tomorrow. I’m surprised that even though I’m going to bed around 1:30AM, I’m still about to awake around 9:30 and have 8 hours of sleep! That’s much better than high school.
Should’ve tried Taiko since I didn’t make symphony, oh well. Flicks better die down, I wanna actually be able to hear the movies when I go, esp. Pirates! College is great cept for the classes part…can’t wait till weekend! Seeya later!
