Today I woke up around 10 and biked over to The Bike Connection, where I got new pedals for my bike and a cute little front bike light. It was nice to ride over and get the feeling that I was taking responsibility for myself and also just to get exercise. After lunch I finally had my first class of the day – my math 42 discussion section. The TA was very nice, but there was a kid in my class who asked a lot of questions. It got to a point where that was annoying. After that, I headed to my IHUM section, where something must have gone wrong and there were over 40 people who showed up, even though there are supposed to be around 12 in each section. So, the instructor decided that he would sort it out before our next lecture, and simply send us on our way after 30 minutes of class, 40 minutes before we were supposed to get out. That was sweet! Dinner was some Mexican food, and after hanging out, we had a presentation about “Walking the Partying Line” where we discussed drinking at Stanford. It was reassuring to know that a lot of people in my house were not really interested in drinking at Stanford, and that at least there would basically never be alcohol in the common room during the weekends. We later dressed up in black clothes and went to the stacks of Green library, where we played Capture the Flag. That was insane, especially just running around the library with about 200 other people. Since Junipero, the house we played, hid their flag in a location only accessible through one corridor, we eventually decided to move the game to the Quad, where almost all the Junipero people left, so we ended up outnumbering them 2 to 1. We captured their flag, and played a second game, where even more of them left, including their flag. About ten minutes in the game, we were all walking on their side without having to run away from anyone, so we all left and headed back to Cedro. That evening I played Harry in Scrabble, and beat him by only 3 points! It was a close game. He’s getting good – I gotta watch out! Tomorrow I have my first class – Chem lecture, at 11. Shouldn’t be a bad day. And finally, it’s the friggin’ weekend!
Don’t you mean it’s the freakin’ weekend?
omg I’m still obsessed with that song lol :)
